Annotatsiya
This scientific article is devoted to the topic of the Turkestan (Kokand) Autonomy: The First Step on the Path to Freedom and Democracy. The article analyzes the formation of the Kokand Autonomy, its political, legal, social and economic reforms, as well as the first steps on the path to national freedom and independence. Detailed information is provided about the reforms implemented during the short-term existence of the autonomy and the processes of national unification between the peoples. The article also studies the political and military reasons that led to the abolition of the Autonomy.
