Abstract: The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) intoeducation has created new opportunities for improving language learningprocesses. Among the four primary language skills, listeningcomprehension remains one of the most challenging for learners becauseit requires rapid processing of auditory input, vocabulary recognition, syntactic analysis, and contextual interpretation. This article exploresthe theoretical foundations of developing listening comprehension skillsthrough artificial intelligence tools from educational, technological, andcognitive perspectives. The study examines modern pedagogicalapproaches that support AI-assisted learning environments anddiscusses how technologies such as speech recognition systems, intelligent tutoring systems, natural language processing, and adaptivelearning platforms can enhance listening instruction. In addition, thepaper analyzes the cognitive mechanisms involved in listeningcomprehension, including perception, attention, working memory, andmeaning construction.
