Annotation: This article sheds light on the importance of learning and understanding phraseological units in foreign language acquisition. It explores the challenges and strategies for interpreting and using idiomatic expressions, enriching language proficiency and cultural understanding. This article also highlights the importance of considering the metaphorical meaning, cultural background, and communicative function of idiomatic expressions. It offers practical advice for translators working with cross-cultural texts.
