Annotatsiya
Abstract. This thesis sheds light on the role of the exercise system in the formation and development of lexicographic competence in primary school students from a scientific and methodological perspective. The relevance of the study is that in primary education, the skills of words and word meanings, lexical analysis, text comprehension, and active use of vocabulary should be developed in an integrated manner. In the work, lexicographic competence is interpreted as the ability to find the necessary unit in the dictionary, distinguish meanings, choose a variant appropriate to the context, use grammatical and stylistic features, and transfer the information found to speech activity. As a result of the study, a consistent, step-by-step, and practically oriented didactic model was proposed for developing the skill of working with exercises. This model serves to improve students' independent thinking, vocabulary culture, reading literacy, and the quality of written speech.
